OK so I am going to a new school. I want to be friendly and open, and to make friends I want a fun place to hang out. Right now my room stinks- my desk is chipped beyond repair, and my dresser has unremovable stickers from when I was six, not to mention it’s way too small. My bed isn’t even a bed. It’s a matress on a cheap metal thing. All I want is a new bunk bed, dresser, and some cheap decor. It totals to 00, which is a good price considering this furniture is really good, and will allow me future use and for my sister once I’ve moved out. 00 is what my mom spends on her week-long "Belize getaways"- where she ditches us with Grandma and goes to get drunk in Belize with her friends. She’s telling me to wait untill Christmas before she gets anything, which is too late for me! I can’t spend another six months in this depressing mess. Ok, that sounded a little divaish. Anyways I told her if we can work something out at the beginning of the schoolyear, I won’t want anything at Christmas or for my birthday! But she just responds with a "No." without looking up from her computer, smoking her cigarette so nonchalanty. And when I ask her why, she says "Because." She’s not willing to bargain at all, but I am not happy being dumped in a room with age old furniture while she’s dancing the night away with a beer in South America. We are doing fine financially, by the way, she could totally afford that. If possible, can you give me some tips on how to convince her? I haven’t been this upset IN YEARS over something like, well, this. Thanks, sorry if I’ve come off as a snobby brat.
