Snow blows into through the center ridge of my metal roof barn. How can I stop it?

metal home decor

I just bought a property with a 20×40 metal barn. Snow comes in through several spots, especially the center ridge of the roof and at both ends of the roof. I plan on trying to insulate and add a heater of some sort. How can I seal off the gaps and maintain ventilation for insulating?

  1. the strips they are referring to are for the roof at the walls and could be used under the ridge cap. they are rubber type product and very expensive. might want to buy styrofoam sheets and cut to size. u can use this for walls, ceiling and vent. just make sure u allow for some ventilation (dont make airtight). putting in a ceiling allows a smaller heater, but not required. good luck.

  2. They make foam strips exactly for that purpose. If you want to heat, you need a ceiling on the bottom of the trusses.

  3. Hello look on your building and get the name of the company that made your barn all company that I know has what is call a closer one for the ridge cap and one for the side wall or this one should go on before the gutter you need know who made the metal before you can get the closers good luck P.S. the product is foam and shaped like your metal
