What other colors can I use in my living room?
metal home decor
I have a fairly large space here and I am not sure what to do. Everything is dark/natural colors. I have dark hard wood floors, dark brownish-black seating, light neutral area rug and light wood bookcase, warm brown walls with white trim, and I have a large picture window with burgundy curtains.
I have some bronze colored items(clock, mirror) and some black wrought iron items( curtain rod and sconces with red candles). I have a couple other smaller pieces of furniture that are brown/bronze/black colored. I have a few large empty spaces on walls that I would like to hang something- with more color. Please help me- I have no idea what color I can add – or what type of canvas I should hang to go with everything.
I am a little picky about art work- but I am really drawn to the New York City skyline prints and canvas, and the Paris ones too. I am just not sure how well those would really look with what I have. Please help!!
I would like to use an area to hang a large family photo/collage. I would also like to hang a glass shelf to go with my tv stand that is black with glass shelves…. Maybe put a smaller non-busy print of NYC on it….I don’t know!

I have no idea what your style and tastes are so I’m not sure you are going to like my suggestions, but here goes. I like lots of color and contrast so I would probably go with a burnt orange, royal blue and deep eggplant in a modern art piece, throw pillow, etc. The royal blue would bother a lot of people so a forest green could be used instead.
If you are leaning towards neutrals try going with a sepia tint of those sky lines that you like and add plants for touches of green.
Stick to a canvass made from colored pastel the idea of hanging photos would be great, do you have any photos of your living room so we can recommend you what color to use to make things contrast.
With the dark wood and colors you’ve already got, Moroccon/bohemian themed colors could go really well… deep oranges, reds, purples and pinks. It doesn’t sound like the NYC photo would go very well in that room, try it in a room that doesn’t have as much going on or even a smaller room like the bathroom for a statement piece.
